Why Learning Oriented to Higher Order Thinking Skill is Important?

The role of the professional teacher in learning is very important as a key to success learn students and produce quality graduates. Professional teacher is teachers who are competent in building and developing learning processes that are good and effective so that it can produce smart and educational students quality. This makes the quality of learning as a component become the focus of attention of the central government and regional governments in improve the quality of education, especially concerning the quality of graduate students.
Development of learning is oriented to Higher Order Thinking Skill is a program that was developed as an effort Ministry of Education and Culture through the Directorate General of Teachers and Personnel Education (DG GTK) in an effort to improve the quality of learning and improve the quality of graduates. This program was developed following the policy direction Ministry of Education and Culture which in 2018 has been integrated Strengthening Character Education and learning oriented to Higher Order Thinking Skill .

One of the improvements in the quality of students is done by teachers who focus on Improving the quality of learning in class with skills oriented think high level. The design of improving the quality of learning is an effort improvement of student quality which ultimately improves the quality of education in Indonesia. In line with this, a teacher handbook is needed which provides skills to develop learning oriented higher level thinking skills. The aim is to improve the quality of learning which will ultimately improve the quality of graduate students.
